I can’t believe this is my first official post as a bride-to-be! It’s been such a surreal journey so far and I am so excited to plan my wedding and share all of the details surrounding the wedding on the blog. Getting engaged has been one of the most exciting times of my life!
You are probably thinking, “what have you planned so far”? Now that the excitement of the proposal has settled, I have started the wedding planning *screaming for joy* and will it be any shock to hear that one of my favorite parts so far has been already trying to plan my outfits for all of the wedding events? Choosing what to wear and where to start can be overwhelming, if I’m being honest. Don’t worry, though! I am going to share my best advice on the subject and hopefully serve as a guide for the early planning process.
Being Armenian and coming from a traditional culture, I am going to incorporate some traditions from my parent’s wedding as well as some new ones we grew up with. There are so many significant moments leading up to your wedding day, from bridal shower to rehearsal dinner, and you are going to want to look AH-mazing at each one. I have been looking for a white dress for each occasion and making sure each is very different from one another.
Since we got engaged in Park City, Utah, we have yet to plan an event celebrating with all of our loved ones in Los Angeles. Thinking about an engagement party, the first thought in my mind is fashion related, of course! I wanted a dress that was simple yet long in length. I wanted to keep it minimalistic with beautiful lace detailing. I love how timeless and feminine one shoulder dresses looked and seeing how form fitting this David's Bridal dress was, I instantly fell in love.
Depending on your location, you can either go all out for your engagement party or rehearsal dinner. Since we will be incorporating more traditions during our wedding day and opting out of a rehearsal dinner (can’t wait to share more from our culture), I wanted my engagement dress to celebrate in fashion but also be comfortable. Although white is always preferred, it’s definitely not a rule and you can choose any color you prefer. I preferred white but I was more concerned about the finding the perfect fit and quality. When I came across this affordable option from David's Bridal, I couldn’t be happier and can’t wait to style it as soon as possible.
Five years ago, my best friend’s sister got married and I got the honor to stand beside her on her special day as a bridesmaid. We wore beautiful dusty blue colored gowns and I remember my experience at David's Bridal since then. When asked to partner with them to share more about their dresses and experience, I knew it was the right fit immediately because of my own story several years ago prior to blogging. Whether you are looking for your engagement party dress, bridal shower, rehearsal or even celebrating your anniversary, David's Bridal offers both formal and casual options that are trendy yet affordable.

Lillian
